Buenos tardes mis amigos.

1pm and there is a rain delay with the Nascar race, and a nube delay with pool time here in La Crucecita!!

The day started with pancakes…oh I need a siesta now…ja ja ja

What have we been up to? Bexico…go go go on her work. She did have a chat with her possible NJ clients, but $2/hour is not going to cut it and she had to let them know that.

So she spends 4-5 hours a day working on some projects for her Portland OR based client.

Me? Sábado was a usual Saturday and that meant at el gimnasio there was more talking then working out. ¿Porque? Yeu was working and I only see him once a week now a days.

He is good, but wants to catch up and learn some new words en ingles. Then throw Hector in the mix and it slows down the whole workout!! Ja ja ja

Not hating…just stating.

I did have 2 video chats ayer. Antes el gimnasio I caught up with Melon. Dude needs a haircut is all I can say!! Good to catch up and hoping to hook up in Vegas on my way norte. If not, plan #2 is Seahawks in December to celebrate his cumpleaños.

Anoche I caught up with mis padres. They too are good…made is working hard on a hand made quilt for niño. Good thing as we will need it in BC as we are not planning on buying a lot of ropa for cold weather.

Spent some time working on Inmigracion stuff. They gave us a sheet with a list of things, and here it is simplified.

Prórroga para la Calidad de No Inmigrante

Ø  Formato Migratorio para Trámite de Estancia
Ø  Original de forma migratoria
Ø  Comprobante de pago de derechos
Ø  Escrito manifeste??
Ø  Tres últimos estados de cuenta bancaria
Ø  Copia de pasaporte pagina 2 y 3
Ø  Cinco fotografias

There is only one thing on their list that I am not sure about. I think it is a letter from each of us, stating we will follow the rules of Inmigracion, but it is different then the one we had when we first applied a year ago.

The plan is to take the letter I have to Inmigracion and confirm if it is correct or not. We will then return with our paquete of information and hopefully we have everything they require. Odds are we won’t!! Ja ja ja

The first time, it seemed like they always had one more thing we needed. Stay tuned.

Ok…we have kept you waiting long enough.

This fruit?

It is known as the pitahaya o pitaya. Here is wikipedia’s info on the fruit.

Beto and Silverio both said it might be a “tuna”, which is a part of a local mezcal plant, the Maguey. But it was Melon who sent me an email late Friday night and had the correct answer.

Here is a foto of “hip hop” Beto.

His job(s)? He stands out front of a restaurante a few doors down from Gabriels, and his role is to entice customers to come in and eat and drink. His added value…he speaks ingles.

His other job is to clean albercas. If I have the facts correct, he gets up at 5am and cleans pools until 10 or 11am when he reports to the restaurante. He then works there until 8 or 10pm. Ugh…welcome to Mexico.

A late day update via Daniel…here is info on Opuntia or nopales.

The article actually refers to the “tuna”. Who knew?

Ayer when we got back to the joyeria, there were lots of head nods when we told them it was a pitahaya and when madre de Daniel walked by, she was eager to tell me that she knew it was a pitahaya!!

Anoche despues de la cena (hello muslo pollo con papas), we went for a walk to work off some calories. Not sure, but we might have put some back on with the “mejor”…best…frozen yogurt that Bexico has ever had!!

This was our third time at this little shop and they seem to recognize us…and we don’t mind paying the $20 pesos for a vaso (cup) to go.

Late night stroll included a stop at the joyeria where Sergio was adamant that Bexico stop scratching her belly, thus avoiding stretch marks!! Ja ja ja

On our walk, we bumped into the dos senoritas that used to clean the condos at Sueño Real. They recognized us, called me Marco and even called niño Marcoito. Small town so you are bound to bump into peeps all the time, but it is nice to be recognized by peeps you have not seen in almost dos años.
140pm and looks like we might hit the alberca. Both race channels were closed down on Justin.tv…rain delay anyways.

We had some good float time. Lots of Mexicanos here today…we think they are just visiting, as we have not seen them before.

RED ALERT

Bexico has cracked open her last box of Fibre 1 bars, this last box having been brought down (so graciously) from Canada by Randy. Four weeks and only 20 bars…time to ration.

Despues de alberca, hello crappy IRL race on Justin.tv. Wow the officials made a bad call there about restarting a race while the rain was still coming down. Oh well.

Spending some time swaddle blanket hunting and also getting ready for the busy week. Have also extended the storage locker in Vancouver for another month.

The plan is to downsize from the 5x10 to a 5x5…we still need storage.

Hamburguesa domingo starts in about an hour, right after Bexico finishes her Skype with RJ.

Some fotos from ayer.

These hombres are taking a break from selling their pillows and comforters (ugh).

Same products, different hombre.

And a view up calle Bugambalia….muy tranquilo…quiet.

This is Raphael y su hijo Christopher.

Raphael is mi mecanico amigo and his son wants to be a mecanico as well. Christopher was a bit (hee x3) timido, but he was interested in hearing about nieve (snow) y hombre de nieve!!

A hombre selling chairs.

A hombre checking out the stock markets.

And last but not least, one word…leche!!

Hope you had a great fin de semana!! I know mi hermana did…she sold 3 of her original paintings at a show this weekend…felicidades!!

Hasta mañana.

Marco y Bexico
